We flew out of the UK on Sunday morning GMT and arrived after about 24 hours (adjusting 4.75 hours forward for Nepal) back to the Pacific Guest House in Kathmandu.
There was a long stopover at Delhi interuaped by tea and snacka before a catnap on the seats outside our flight gate. The airport has been voted best airport in the world for 2 years running. However we rated Heathrow Terminal 4 more highly.
Today is day 10 of Dashain and most of Kathmandu has its shutters down with people at the temple and with family. We have managed to eat this evening in a small Muslim restaurant. It was tucked away and so mainly Nepali people eating not tourists. The picture shows Clare stood in front of a riskshaw, in the dark. Can you see her?
We need to get ready for the walk along the trail to Everest Base Camp (EBC). We do not want to spend long in KTM and so permits and flights need sorting as soon as possible.
Tomorrow is tikka day where sisters paint a tikka on the forehead of their brothers. Also lots of food and not much is likely to be open. We will give it a go and see what happens.
