Vintage in Laos

You don’t get to see a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow mark I I everyday and we so we were very surpised to see one parked next to a Buddhist Wat (temple). The temple was along a quiet side road and we wondered if a monk in bright orange robes would jump in and drive off. However no one laid claim to the car and so the ownership remained a mystery.

Our love of Luang Prabang continues as this quiet city continues to show its charms with Wats, graceful buildings and equally graceful and friendly people. Our Lonely Planet guide said get used to smiling and being smiled at. That has been our experience and we love it.

We visited the famous night market and it was quiet, friendly and not pushy in terms of sales pitch. We were content to window shop and eat banana crepe with chocolate sauce and condensed milk. Not the healthiest option on offer, however it was the most delicious.
