Pit stop 2

Malaysia and Asia are now far behind as we have returned to the UK for a refuel and refresh before considering our Camino pilgrimage later this year.
This is a time for seeing family and friends in the UK. It has been 5 months since we left for Hong Kong and it feels good to be able to spend time with familiar faces.

We have returned to a cold spell. 4c was the daytime high and we expect nightime temperatures below freezing every night this week. This is the coldest since we left Nepal in November. Today had a fabulous sunrise and barely a cloud in the sky. We could not have been rewarded with a better display of winter weather.

Also we are exploring what we will be doing in terms of meaning and purpose. We have been invited to be live in carers for a couple who require more care than local health and social care services can provide. We met the family today and all being well we will begin on 1 February.

We have a bit of jet lag and some sniffles. So we will have a few days respite and then we will blog again.

  1. It is lovely to know that you are both home safe and sound, and that you will be with friends and family for a while – rest well. But I have so enjoyed travelling with you and I shall miss being able to switch off from winter and work to sit beside you for a few moments in more exotic lands x
