Dartmoor in February is an interesting time to try putting Grace through her paces. So far she had been a little star. Yesterday we took her up onto Dartmoor. The morning started bright and blue and we had a bracing (read perishing cold and windy) walk then clamber up onto Hay Tor. “Beautiful view” says Noel. “Now lets get back down before the rain. Last one back is an icicle.”
Actually the clouds turned out to be carrying snow, not rain. Flung horizontally at us by the wind and we both got into the cab breathless before it arrived.
The delight of Grace was being able to cook up hot soup and read books while the snow blew itself out and the view changed from white to blue and gold again and we drove down to Widecombe to admire the ancient 15th century church. Then back over the moor past tors glowing orange in the winter sunset to our campsite to warm up with tea!
